My exams are over. What do I do next?
- Carefully read your Graduation Eligibility Letter. If you have not received your Graduation Eligibility Letter by the last week in June (course completion semester one) or the last week in October (course completion semester two), contact your Faculty Office immediately.
- If your graduation status shows that you will graduate in August or December and you believe that you should not be graduating at this time, please contact your Faculty Office immediately.
- Carefully read through all of the information on the Graduation website, especially the Information for Graduands section.
Should I receive any correspondence from UTAS other than my Graduation Eligibility Letter?
No. The Graduation Eligibility Letter is the only correspondence you will receive from UTAS regarding graduation. The main means of communicating with you will be via this website. It is therefore essential that you check regularly for updates or contact graduation@utas.edu.au. DON'T FORGET TO REFRESH YOUR SCREEN EACH TIME YOU VISIT OR YOU MAY BE LOOKING AT OLDER FILES.
I haven’t received my Graduation Eligibility Letter from UTAS. What do I do?
If you have not received your Graduation Eligibility Letter by the last week in June (course completion semester one) or the last week in October (course completion semester two), contact your Faculty Office immediately.
How do I check my personal details?
Check your personal details both on your Graduation Eligibility Letter and on your eStudent web page. Access your eStudent web page. You will need your login name and password.
How do I change how my name will appear on my certificate?
To change your name, contact the Student Centre no later than 21 days before your ceremony. Documentary evidence of the change, such as a birth certificate, extract of birth registration, passport, marriage certificate, citizenship papers, divorce decree, or registered deed poll, is required. See University requirements for name changes for more information.
Is there anything that will prevent me from graduating?
Yes. You may NOT be eligible to graduate if:
- You are debarred because you owe the University money
- You have failed any of the units required for the completion of your degree
- You have failed to satisfy any practical or professional requirements needed for completion
- You are awaiting cross-institutional results from another university and they have not been finalised by the middle of July or the end of November
- You are sitting a Deferred Ordinary Examination before the December ceremonies
- You are sitting a Supplementary Examination before the December ceremonies
- You wish to apply for a change of assessment (e.g. with an Honours level, or grade of pass)

What date / time / location is my ceremony?
The details of your allocated ceremony will appear on your eStudent web page. See also Ceremony dates, times and locations.
I wish to attend a different ceremony to the one I have been allocated. What do I do?
Contact the Student Centre as soon as possible and we will try to move you to another appropriate ceremony. If there is no other ceremony at which you can graduate, you may be able to graduate as a ‘walk-through’. I do not wish to attend my ceremony. What do I do?
Change your attendance status on your eStudent web page up to 21 days before a ceremony, or contact the Student Centre. See Inability to attend for more information.
How do I change my ceremony attendance status?
Visit your eStudent web page or contact the Student Centre.
How do I go about getting my gown and tickets?

Can I purchase extra tickets?
You may be able to purchase extra tickets. See Tickets for more information.
How long will my ceremony go for?
Most ceremonies go for about one to one-and-a-half hours. Contact the Student Centre to ask about a specific ceremony.
Do I have to book the photographer in advance?
No. Bookings are taken on the day of your ceremony. See After the ceremony for more information.
I would like to participate in the Town-and-gown procession. What do I do?

I did not attend my ceremony. When will I receive my certificate and academic transcript?
Certificates are usually posted in September (after August graduation) or early February (after December graduation). Your academic transcript and a copy of the program will be enclosed with your certificate. See Inability to attend for more information, or contact the Student Centre.
My certificate is lost or damaged. Can I obtain a replacement certificate?
